Denise Johnson is an up and coming Warlpiri Aboriginal Artist from Ali Curung, which is to the North of Alice Springs. Denise paints delicate depictions of her traditional Water Dreaming. Denise has been experimenting with new ways to tell these stories. These important stories are passed on from mothers to their children by telling the stories while drawing the information being taught in the sand as the traditional songs are being sung. Water Dreaming Stories are very important in the harsh desert environments of Central Australia. These stories are told to teach the younger generations about where they can go in search of water.
